Karma: How is karma calculated?

1. What are the ways in which Karma calculated? For example, how does a short bad thought compare with a good deed around the same subject. .E.G I want to steal a chocolate bar from my friend, but I realise it is bad, and end up offering one of mine, not out of guilt, but because he has less than I do, and it would be 'fair' or the 'right thing to do'. . something a long those lines. .

2. If somebody was brought up with completely different values, how does that affect their karma? For example if somebody was brought up to think that it was right to lie, steal, cheat. . . to get what they wanted, and honestly did not know it was 'wrong' in the eyes of karmic law. . . how does that get worked out, their intentions are part of their culture which is not inbuilt (hence differences across the world).

Thanks in advance for any answers. .Karma: How is karma calculated?
(good - bad, per lifetime) * a boatload of nonsense = a point, eventually, where one's luck is based on what people with that soul did in past lives, irrespective of what the current incarnation of that soul doesKarma: How is karma calculated?
1/ ...Karma is measured through the inevitability of consequence

2/...It effects their Karma through the inevitability of consequence

Inevitable = certain

Consequence = result of effect of some previous occurrence / logical conclusion
