How can I clean my kitchen knives?

I have a set of Chicago Cutlery that is about 5-6 years old. I had just gotten married and we didn't spend much on the set. Last year, the blades started to show signs of rust. I cleaned them up with Barkeeper's Friend and they look good, except for the handles. The handles are dingy and lackluster. How can I bring life back into these knives? The handles are dull looking. I know Chicago has a guarantee but i don't think it is on the handles. How can I clean my kitchen knives?
well saddle soap or any other wood revitalize would "bring back" the knives.

Speaking as a professional chef though, I would suggest just spending the money for a top quality set of knives.

EDIT

well barkeeper's friend on the handle is your best bet
I have one Chicago Cutlery knife and I hate it! It does not keep it's edge, rusts and the hard plastic handle looks like yours. Believe it or not, I use one of those orange pledge cleaning rags and it restores the handle for a bit!How can I clean my kitchen knives?
Everyone else has given you perfect suggestions, but let me add one more:

Not sure if you're doing this or not, but don't put your knives in the dishwasher. Always hand wash in very hot, soapy water. The super high temp of the dishwasher along with the abrasive nature of dishwasher detergent will dull your knives and ruin the handles.
I would try polishing the hilts with toothpaste, using either an old toothbrush or a terry bar rag.
Well you can repait them! That might be a good idea!!!!
Buy Shun knives. They are worth every penny. Buy one at a time.

Chicago cutlery is low end.
If it is a hard plastic that looks dull, you might want to consider using something like ArmorAll, or a natural product like mineral oil to coat the handle. Be sure to avoid the blade if you use the ArmorAll.

Hope this helps.
