ok im an american and last july i went to australia as a student ambassador and i tried ur burgers.....it was sooo odd looking...i just wanted to know if u like aus burgers or american burgers better...american burgers dont have carrots or beets in them...they have the buns, meat, tomatoes, lettuce, pickels, ketchup, mayo,mu鈥?island dressing!!! yum thier soo good??? and i forgot what ur burgers have??? anyways which one would u prefer?Hey, Aussies.!!! can u answer this??
Its an Australian Hamburger, its not meant to be the same.

We don't copy everything America does, and I would choose something Australian over anything American anyday.
A typical Australian burger contains the beef pattie, slice of tomato, fried onion, lettuce, beetroot and BBQ sauce on a toasted bun. Sometimes a variation is adding a fried egg, slice of pineapple or slice of bacon. We don't really like the pickles here. But it is what you are used to - I think that Australian burgers are great to have as a treat.Hey, Aussies.!!! can u answer this??
You should have tried a Works burger.

Meat pattie or steak (sometimes both), bacon, egg, fried onion, tomato, lettuce, cucumber, grated carrot, beetroot, cheese, pineapple and bbq sauce on a toasted breadroll.

Makes yours sound kind of boring.

My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
The best burger I have EVER had in my life was in Tahiti - I think it was kind of french style with an american influence.

But I gotta say I do love our burgers with pineapple, beetroot, fried egg.... mmmmmmm

Kevin - I eat pickles by the jar-full.... healthy snack! lol

Last answerer - Now that you mention it, its making me hungry too!
well of course it's going to be different...not everything is so 'americanised'

our burgers are the best and are probably healthier aswell. They have meat pattie, lettuce, beetroot, carrot, egg, onion, pineapple, sauce and sometimes bacon aswell.

I prefer ours (obviously) as they dont feel like you've just eaten greasey fat
Aussie burger with a fat slice of beetroot anyday...Americans love their burgers to have 5,000,000 calories that's why there all lard asses....

America needs to diet
I love Aussie burgers, especially the ones with pineapple. We're not into pickles, mustard, or ketchup. At least, nobody I know likes that stuff!

However my brother likes ketchup, but I think it tastes bloody weird! It's very different to our tomato sauce.
All these replies are making me hungry yummmmmy, but nothing beats a steak and bacon burger, with all the salad and BBQ sauce.
pickles, mayo, dressing is discusting on a burger

never had a burger in australia that had carrot on it so dont know were you got that from, and your burgers are made from premade frozen meat aussies make there burgers from fresh ground beef
Australians do not like the pickles Americans put on their burgers. That is why the rooves of McDonalds stores are covered in the pickles that people throw up there as they're leaving the store. I am not joking.

We don't tend to put creamy mayo/thousand island dressing on our burgers either. It adds a lot of calories.
In Australia we have the Aussie burger (nice wholesome bun with fresh real meat patty, lettuce, cheese, beetroot, onion, egg, pineapple, tomato, sauce - obviously you'd choose which things to have, you don't have to have them all) - OR we have the American burger from McDonalds or Hungry Jacks (tasteless white sweetened bun, processed burger, a few strands of lettuce, some soggy cheese and a pickle).

Sometimes we choose the American burger, and other times we like the original Aussie burger. I'm glad we have a choice.

How come you have orange cheese in your burgers? I couldn't believe the colour of the cheese when I visited.....

Don't take offence at my comparisons - it's just what we're used to, and what you're used to - and it's great that we do have a choice.
I was recently in North Carolina, and had some of the greatest burgers ever. So much unhealthier but far more tastier never-the-less.
I just have to say to all the Australians talking about how fattening and disgusting American burgers are, that is not true. That is generalizing. If you eat it at a fast food restuarant maybe. We do use fresh gound beef, vegitables on the burgers. A burger is a burger, not the healthiest thing to eat, but certainly not the worst. And no we are not all lard asses that need to diet.
i much prefer Aussie hamburgers.Don't think much of American one's or the country...We need to support our country
