No, I remember in the early 60s A%26amp;W drive-ups in San Bernadino, CA. 1000 Isle seemed to be the California burger condiment. (And, they made you pay for the order BEFORE you got your food). Not like Texas at all, with the mustard and pay when the little girl came back out to fetch the window tray.
Probably not. There are a lot of local chains, that had the double decker club sandwiches with there versions of "the special sauce" But McDonalds is basically what caused the sandwich to become so popular.
It's possible, but what I don't understand is if everybody knows what it is then why it's still called "secret sauce"
I think Denny's used to put it on their pattymelts first.
Dog and Suds had a Big D double decker burger sandwich years ago with 1000 island on it.I worked there as a car hop in my long ago and looking good leg days.
No
special sauce is not 1000 island dressing . heres the secret. 1000 is made from katchup, mayo and pkl . Special Sauce is katchup , tartar sauce and pkl.
That's Special Sauce thank you very much. Hahaha
