Someone I know recently graduated from Parris Island and now works at a local burger joint. He calls himself a Marine and is all "Semper Fi" and stuff...was even looking forward to the "Veterans eat free" day at a pancake house nearby. He hasn't done a single day of active duty, so how can be a "veteran"?Can you graduate from Parris Island (US Marines) and never serve?
You can bet your sweet ***...
That a few years from now and you meet him in a Bar...
He will tell you War Stories that are hard to believe...
Thats cause they are all BS...
There are Thousands of Wannabes Out There !!!!
The VA states that a Veteran is one that has served a minimum of 180 Days on Active Service...
It sounds like he is a reservist. I don't recall reservists being in a separate category from active duty when it comes to veteran status, and if he is one he has an ID that proves his status. Let him eat his pancakes. Can you graduate from Parris Island (US Marines) and never serve?
I'd be willing to bet money that this guy is a reservist as well.
