Does anyone remember the Golden Point Drive-in Restaurants?

Did you have a Golden Pointe Drive-in in your city. I grew up 3 blocks from one. Hamburger, fries, small Pepsi = .56 (1972?) They were in my hometown before "the clown" and "the king". Eventually got ran out by the Mcdonalds and Burger King. The only 3 cities I ever saw them were in Grand Island NE, Kansas City MO and I think somewhere in Colorado...maybe Loveland. Ah...for the good old days! Anyone have any photos of a Golden Point drive-in?Does anyone remember the Golden Point Drive-in Restaurants?

Golden Bird Fried Chicken.
never had one here in Illinois
nope
I am not from your area of the country, but your question brought back memories of my favorite drive-ins. They were really a lot of fun. We didn't care much about the food, it was just fun to see all of our friends.

  1. YES!! I do remember them. There was one on 9th Street near Benton Blvd. in Kansas City Missouri. We went to church right around the corner at Grace Presbyterian Church (now Grace United) when I was a little boy (some 60 years ago). When my Dad wanted to give Mom a break from cooking, he would stop by and have take-out to go home and eat. That was really the good ole days when families ate together. I loved their food and the knoledge that the family was eating together. Great memories.
