I'm a vegan, but I occassionally eat milk chocolate- you know, M%26amp;Ms and such- and sometimes I eat things that have ranch or 1000 island dressing, which isn't vegan. Is that okay? Anyone else out there a partial vegan? I would never eat meat dairy or eggs, but I don't mind eating a veggie burger that might not be vegan or eating cookies. Anyone else out there like me?Is it okay to occasionally eat milk chocolate and ranch dressing if you are a vegan?
"[T]he word "veganism" denotes a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude — as far as is possible and practical — all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals."
If you're eating ranch and milk chocolate and other things then you're not dispensing with all animal products. It doesn't make your way of living wrong in any way, but it means you're not vegan. You're vegetarian.
If you want to fit a label, you just dropped yourself in the classification of 'vegetarian'. You '..would never eat...dairy...'? Don't mind eating cookies or a veggie burger that isn't vegan? M%26amp;M's is dairy. Milk chocolate is dairy. Ranch has dairy. A 'Partial Vegan' is still a Vegetarian. Is it okay to occasionally eat milk chocolate and ranch dressing if you are a vegan?
There are no vegan police that are going to bust you for this, but why do you have to cram yourself into a box? Eat what you want to eat. Period. But along with this freedom, you also can't attack people for their food choices.
Honestly, I don't consider you a vegan if you intentionally/knowingly consume eggs and dairy. (Which you do. Milk is in ranch and milk chocolate, and there are eggs in 1000 island.
You do eat dairy and eggs, if you eat things that contain them. You are not a vegan. You are a vegetarian that is stricter than most, but you are not a vegan.
No such thing as a "partial" vegan....you either are vegan or you aren't. Silly question.
you can't be a partial vegan. You either are or aren't.
You aren't vegan, sorry.
It's up to you! You are not a true vegan if you don't stick to it!
you are a vegetarian..simple!
of course you could do that, but you wouldn't be a vegan.
Oh boy, you just infuriated the entire vegan community and they are worse than a angry wasp hive. Haha,...not only that but they are about to throw you out of their vegan only exclusive club. Brace yourself for the onslaught of the vegans. You better put that ranch dressing down now and go eat some roots, and nuts..stat!..
I have been a vegetarian for years and have often contemplated becoming vegan but have deceided against it soley because of the crumy attitudes of the vegan people. They are not friendly or warm people. Personaly I think they are just hungry and I guess I would be bitchy too if I was constantly hungry.
I don't see why not. Its not like anything bad is going to happen to you. I'm a vegetarian and I've tried pepperoni before( I didn't like it though).
hey. no. its wrong to not eat meat, we have been wating meat since the cave men were born so eat meat! freakin hippy
